This page is for sellers, partners and candidates who need a ServiceNow headcount they can cite. ServiceNow reports one number a year, as of December 31, in the Workforce Metrics part of the Human Capital section of its 10-K. Since 2021 it has also split the total between the United States and everywhere else. Every figure below comes from those filings, its latest 10-Q or California's public layoff notices.

ServiceNow gives exact counts, not rounded ones. The changes are our arithmetic.
The international share has risen from 45% in 2021 to 50% in 2025. By 2024 there were almost as many ServiceNow employees outside the United States as inside it.
What the number includes
- Full-time only. The 10-K wording is "we employed: 29,187 employees on a full-time basis." Part-time staff, interns and contractors aren't in the figure, and ServiceNow doesn't report them separately.
- Worldwide. The total covers every country, split only into the United States and "international." There's no breakdown by country or function in recent filings.
- Function split, once. The 2018 10-K, the last to give one, split 8,154 employees into 3,061 in sales and marketing, 2,080 in research and development, 1,835 in cloud operations, professional services, training and customer support, and 1,178 in general and administrative roles. Treat it as history: the mix today is unknown.
- Unions. "None of our U.S. employees are represented by a labor union," though some employees elsewhere are covered by workers' councils or collective bargaining at a national or sector level.
What changed and why
2018 to 2025: growth every year
ServiceNow added people in every year on record, though growth slowed from 21% to 29% a year in 2019 to 2022 to 11% to 16% a year in 2023 to 2025. The 2025 10-K attributes the rise in each main expense line to "increased headcount": cost of subscription revenues, sales and marketing, research and development, and general and administrative.
Late 2025 and 2026: acquisitions
ServiceNow completed several acquisitions in 2025, including Logik.io (May 30), data.world (July) and Moveworks (December 15, for about $2.4 billion). The September 2026 10-Q adds Veza, acquired on March 2, 2026, and Armis Security, acquired on April 20, 2026 for about $7.6 billion. Employees of the 2026 deals will appear for the first time in the December 31, 2026 count.
2026: a workforce optimization strategy
The same 10-Q says that during 2026 ServiceNow "initiated a workforce optimization strategy that streamlines certain functions in the organization by leveraging AI-driven efficiencies and investing in talent in key strategic areas." Severance and related costs were $87 million in the third quarter and $167 million in the first nine months of 2026, mostly in sales and marketing, research and development, and general and administrative. The program is expected to be substantially completed in 2026. California WARN reports list ServiceNow notices for 287 employees at its Santa Clara and San Diego offices on July 28, 2026, and 20 more on October 13, 2026. They cover only California sites above the law's thresholds.
With acquisitions adding people and the program removing them, the direction of the next annual count isn't clear from the filings.
Revenue per employee
ServiceNow's 2025 revenue was $13.3 billion, up 21%. $13,278 million ÷ 29,187 = about $454,900 per employee (our calculation). In 2024 it was about $417,800 ($10,984 million ÷ 26,293), so revenue grew faster than headcount.
| 2025 revenue | Amount | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription | $12.9 billion | 97% |
| Professional services and other | $0.4 billion | 3% |
| North America | $8.3 billion | 62.9% |
| EMEA | $3.4 billion | 25.6% |
| Asia Pacific and other | $1.5 billion | 11.5% |
Compare the regional split with headcount: about 63% of revenue comes from North America, while 50% of employees are in the United States. The filings don't say where the international employees are, so you can't tell how many support EMEA and Asia Pacific customers and how many work on products for every region.
Selling to a company this size
General guidance on how software companies of about 30,000 people buy, not a description of ServiceNow's internal processes.
- Expect a platform-first buyer. A company that sells a workflow platform will ask whether its own platform could do the job. Show why yours shouldn't be built in-house.
- Time your approach to the integration work. Recent acquisitions create integration projects: systems to consolidate, teams to combine, identity and security tools to rationalize. Those are often the problems that open a new supplier conversation.
- Lead with measurable efficiency. A company that frames its own restructuring around AI-driven efficiency will judge your product the same way. Bring a cost or time saving you can prove.
- Go in through the function. Purchases usually start with a function leader (sales operations, IT, security, people) and then pass through procurement and security review. Our guide to finding decision makers covers how to map them.
Working out which function owns the problem after a run of acquisitions is slow research. Bebop researches each account and suggests who to talk to and the angle to open with; check its findings against the filings.

Questions people ask
How many employees does ServiceNow have in 2026?
ServiceNow's latest reported figure is 29,187 full-time employees on December 31, 2025, from its 2025 10-K, filed January 29, 2026. It doesn't report headcount in its quarterly filings. During 2026 it acquired Veza and Armis Security, which will add employees, and ran a workforce optimization program with $167 million of severance in the first nine months, so the next count could move either way.
How many ServiceNow employees are in the United States?
14,601 on December 31, 2025, according to the 2025 10-K, which also counted 14,586 full-time employees outside the United States. That's almost exactly half each. In 2021, 9,341 of 16,881 employees (about 55%) were in the United States, so international headcount has grown faster than US headcount over the last four years.
Did ServiceNow have layoffs in 2026?
Yes. ServiceNow's September 2026 10-Q describes a workforce optimization strategy that streamlines certain functions using AI-driven efficiencies, with $167 million of severance and related costs in the first nine months of 2026. California WARN reports list notices for 287 employees in Santa Clara and San Diego in July 2026 and 20 more in October 2026. The 10-Q doesn't give a total number of roles.
What is ServiceNow's revenue per employee?
About $454,900 in 2025, by our calculation: $13,278 million of revenue divided by 29,187 full-time employees at December 31, 2025, both from the 2025 10-K. In 2024 it was about $417,800. Because the headcount counts full-time employees only, a figure that included part-time staff or contractors would be somewhat lower.
How fast is ServiceNow's headcount growing?
It grew 11.0% in 2025, 16.0% in 2024 and 10.9% in 2023, slower than the 21% to 29% a year it grew between 2019 and 2022. Over the full period it went from 8,154 full-time employees at the end of 2018 to 29,187 at the end of 2025, about 3.6 times as many.
