Short answer
T-Mobile US had approximately 75,000 full-time and part-time employees on December 31, 2025, according to its 2025 Form 10-K, filed February 11, 2026. That's the latest count it has published; its 2026 quarterly reports give no new figure. Substantially all of them work in the US and Puerto Rico. Headcount jumped from 53,000 to 75,000 in 2020, when T-Mobile merged with Sprint, fell to 67,000 by the end of 2023 and has risen since.
- Latest figure: about 75,000 full-time and part-time employees at December 31, 2025, from T-Mobile's 2025 10-K.
- The Sprint merger on April 1, 2020 took headcount from 53,000 to 75,000; Sprint's last 10-K had reported about 28,500 employees.
- T-Mobile cut about 5,000 positions in August 2023 and has booked $531 million of severance for its 2025-2026 Workforce Transformation.
- Headcount rose by 5,000 in 2025, the year T-Mobile bought UScellular's wireless business.
- Revenue per employee was about $1.18 million in 2025 (our calculation from the 10-K).

This page is for sellers sizing T-Mobile as an account, analysts comparing carriers, and anyone who needs a T-Mobile headcount they can cite. Every figure here comes from the annual 10-K reports of T-Mobile US, Inc., or its quarterly 10-Q filings with the SEC, with the date it applies to. It covers T-Mobile US only, not its controlling stockholder Deutsche Telekom AG, which reports separately.
T-Mobile employees by year
T-Mobile states its headcount once a year, as of December 31, under Employees in the Human Capital section of its 10-K.
| Year end | Employees | Change on prior year | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| December 31, 2025 | about 75,000 | +5,000 (+7.1%) | 2025 10-K, filed February 11, 2026 |
| December 31, 2024 | about 70,000 | +3,000 (+4.5%) | 2024 10-K, filed January 31, 2025 |
| December 31, 2023 | about 67,000 | -4,000 (-5.6%) | 2023 10-K, filed February 2, 2024 |
| December 31, 2022 | about 71,000 | -4,000 (-5.3%) | 2022 10-K, filed February 14, 2023 |
| December 31, 2021 | about 75,000 | 0 | 2021 10-K, filed February 11, 2022 |
| December 31, 2020 | about 75,000 | +22,000 (+41.5%) | 2020 10-K, filed February 23, 2021 |
| December 31, 2019 | about 53,000 | +1,000 (+1.9%) | 2019 10-K, filed February 6, 2020 |
| December 31, 2018 | about 52,000 | 2018 10-K, filed February 7, 2019 |
Each filing gives the figure as "approximately", rounded to the nearest 1,000, so a change of a few hundred people can disappear inside the rounding. The changes are our arithmetic.
Is there a newer number?
No. T-Mobile's 10-Q reports for the first three quarters of 2026 don't give a headcount. They do say the restructuring that began in late 2025 is still playing out: "We expect substantially all remaining associated employee separations and related cash outflows to occur throughout 2026." The next count will be in the 2026 10-K, due in early 2027.
What the number includes
- Full-time and part-time employees. The 10-K says T-Mobile "employed approximately 75,000 full-time and part-time employees, including network, retail, administrative and customer support functions." It doesn't say how many are part-time and gives no contractor figure.
- Almost all in the US. "Substantially all of our employees are located throughout the United States, including Puerto Rico," with headquarters in Bellevue, Washington, and Overland Park, Kansas (where Sprint was based).
- One business. T-Mobile operates "as a single operating segment: Wireless," so there's no segment split of headcount to report.
- Not its fiber joint ventures. T-Mobile accounts for its Lumos and Metronet fiber joint ventures under the equity method, so people employed by those ventures aren't in the count.
- A point-in-time count on December 31, not an annual average.
What changed and why
2020: the Sprint merger
"On April 1, 2020, we completed the Merger with Sprint," the 2020 10-K says, and headcount rose by 22,000 that year. Sprint's last annual report, for the year to March 31, 2019, gave "approximately 28,500 employees." Add that to T-Mobile's 53,000 and you get about 81,500, more than the 75,000 the combined company reported at the end of 2020 (our comparison; the dates differ by 21 months). The 10-Ks describe merger restructuring costs "including severance, store rationalization and network decommissioning."
2022 and 2023: integration and a 5,000-position cut
Headcount fell by 4,000 in each year. In 2022 the 10-K was still recording merger integration and restructuring costs. In August 2023 T-Mobile "implemented an initiative to reduce the size of our workforce by approximately 5,000 positions, just under 7% of our total employee base, primarily in corporate and back-office functions, and some technology roles," with a pre-tax charge of $462 million. It also completed the sale of Sprint's former long-haul fiber Wireline Business to Cogent on May 1, 2023.
2024 and 2025: acquisitions add people back
T-Mobile completed its acquisition of Ka'ena Corporation, the owner of Mint Mobile, on May 1, 2024, and of the UScellular Wireless Business on August 1, 2025, for $2.8 billion in cash plus an exchange of UScellular notes. Headcount rose by 3,000 and then 5,000. The filings don't say how many employees came with either deal.
At the same time, in the fourth quarter of 2025 T-Mobile began its 2025-2026 Workforce Transformation "to streamline operations by centralizing leaders and teams, reducing organizational layers, and eliminating duplicative roles," and said it intends to reinvest the savings "into our digital initiatives." It recorded $390 million of charges in 2025 and $141 million in the first quarter of 2026. T-Mobile hasn't published how many roles it covers, so don't trust a number you see quoted without a source.
Revenue per employee
T-Mobile's 2025 total revenues were $88,309 million. Divided by the year-end headcount, that's $88.3 billion ÷ 75,000 = about $1.18 million per employee (our calculation). Because the headcount is rounded to the nearest 1,000, the true figure is between about $1.17 million and $1.19 million. The same sum for 2024 ($81,400 million ÷ 70,000) gives about $1.16 million.
| 2025 revenue | Amount | Share of total (our calculation) |
|---|---|---|
| Postpaid | $57,932 million | 66% |
| Prepaid | $10,497 million | 12% |
| Wholesale and other service | $2,877 million | 3% |
| Equipment | $15,972 million | 18% |
| Other | $1,031 million | 1% |
Headcount was about 75,000 at the end of both 2020 and 2025, while total revenues grew 29%, from $68,397 million to $88,309 million, so revenue per employee rose by about the same share (our calculation). AT&T runs a large wireline business alongside its wireless one, so compare its revenue per employee with T-Mobile's only with that difference in mind.
Selling to a company this size
General guidance on how a 75,000-person, single-segment carrier tends to buy, not a description of T-Mobile's internal processes.
- Pick the function, not the company. The 10-K's own list of functions, network, retail, administrative and customer support, is a first map of where budgets sit. Each runs its own programs and vendors.
- Sell into the transformation. The filings say T-Mobile is removing management layers and duplicate roles and reinvesting in digital initiatives. Tools that let fewer teams cover more work, or that move service to digital channels, match that stated aim.
- Watch the integrations. UScellular customers and network assets are being folded in. Integration work creates short-term needs in network, billing, retail and customer care.
- Plan for review time. Security, privacy, legal and procurement reviews come before a first order at any carrier this size; put them in your forecast.
- Name the people. Work out who signs, who uses and who can block; our guide to finding decision makers shows how.
Mapping the right team inside a large account is the slow part; Bebop researches each account and suggests who to talk to and the angle to open with, which you can check against the filings.

Questions people ask
How many employees does T-Mobile have in 2026?
The latest figure T-Mobile has published is approximately 75,000 full-time and part-time employees at December 31, 2025, from its 2025 10-K filed February 11, 2026. Its 2026 quarterly reports don't give a new number, but they say employee separations under its 2025-2026 Workforce Transformation will continue throughout 2026. The next count is due in the 2026 10-K in early 2027.
How many employees did T-Mobile get from Sprint?
T-Mobile hasn't published a Sprint-only figure. Sprint's last 10-K reported approximately 28,500 employees at March 31, 2019. After the merger closed on April 1, 2020, T-Mobile's headcount rose from about 53,000 at the end of 2019 to about 75,000 at the end of 2020, an increase of 22,000, which is less than the two companies' separate counts added together.
Has T-Mobile had layoffs?
Yes. In August 2023 T-Mobile cut approximately 5,000 positions, just under 7% of its employees, mainly in corporate, back-office and some technology roles, with a $462 million charge. In late 2025 it began a Workforce Transformation to remove organizational layers and duplicate roles, with $390 million of charges in 2025 and $141 million in early 2026. It hasn't said how many roles that covers.
What is T-Mobile's revenue per employee?
About $1.18 million in 2025, by our calculation: $88,309 million of total revenues divided by approximately 75,000 employees at December 31, 2025, both from the 2025 10-K. With the headcount rounded to the nearest 1,000, the true figure is between about $1.17 million and $1.19 million. The 2024 equivalent is about $1.16 million.
How many T-Mobile employees work in the US?
Nearly all of them. T-Mobile's 2025 10-K says substantially all of its approximately 75,000 employees are located throughout the United States, including Puerto Rico, to serve its nationwide network and retail operations. Its headquarters are in Bellevue, Washington, and Overland Park, Kansas. The filing doesn't give a number for employees outside the US.
