Cognism pricing: what the quote covers, what the contract commits you to, and what to pay

Cognism publishes its plans but not its prices, and the figures quoted around the web are user reports, not Cognism's numbers. What you can know before the first call is how its credits and five-seat packages work, what its standard terms say about renewal, and the most you should pay at your volume.

Comparison10 min readUpdated

Short answer

Cognism doesn't publish prices: its Standard and Pro plans are quote only, and each includes five seats. Pro adds intent data, a premium mobile filter and on-demand mobile verification. One credit reveals one contact, email and mobile together, and re-viewing it is free unless the person changes jobs. Cognism's standard terms renew automatically unless you give 60 days' written notice, and allow a renewal increase of up to 10%. Checked 26 October 2026.

  • Cognism is quote only, and both Standard and Pro include five seats, so a two-person team pays for seats it won't use.
  • One credit reveals a whole contact, email and mobile together, and is charged again only if the person changes jobs.
  • Standard terms renew automatically unless you give 60 days' written notice, with renewal increases capped at 10%.
  • Fees are non-cancellable and non-refundable unless the contract is terminated for cause, such as a breach left unfixed for 30 days.
  • Set a walk-away number from a published-price benchmark plus what better mobiles are worth in your own test.
On this page

This page is for founders, sales leaders and RevOps people about to ask Cognism for a quote, or facing a Cognism renewal. It explains what Cognism's own pages say about its plans and credits, what its standard contract commits you to, and how to work out the most you should pay. How we researched this

Bebop, made by Blackpearl Group, wrote this page. We used Cognism's pricing page, its help centre, its compliance page and its General Terms and Conditions (the October 2026 version), plus other vendors' own pricing pages, all read on 26 October 2026.

Several pages ranking for "cognism pricing" quote annual figures attributed to user reports, review sites or unnamed "third-party research". Cognism hasn't published those figures and the pages don't say when or how they were gathered, so we don't repeat them. Treat any number you see as a rumor until you hold a written quote.

Cognism's plans on 26 October 2026

Cognism sells sales prospecting in two packages, Standard and Pro, both marked "5 seats included" and both quote only ("Talk to sales" instead of a price). Its pricing page compares them like this:

FeatureStandardPro
Emails, mobiles, job titles and work historyYesYes
Company revenue, headcount, HQ and technology usageYesYes
Signals: hiring, funding and M&A, job changesYesYes
AI company research, AI search, AI persona builderYesYes
MCP and API access, CSV enrichment, SSOYesYes
Live chat support and an account managerYesYes
Premium mobile filterNoYes
On-demand mobile verificationNoYes
Intent data (Bombora Company Surge, up to 12 topics from 11,000+)NoYes
CRM EnrichmentAdd-onAdd-on

Two more products are priced separately. CRM Enrichment can be bought on its own or as an add-on: credits enrich new records, and Cognism says ongoing maintenance is included, with a credit used again only when key details change, such as a job move. Data-as-a-Service is named in the pricing FAQ, which says it and CRM Enrichment are priced on "subscription structure, usage and delivery requirements".

Cognism describes Pro's verified mobiles as "phone-verified contact numbers", and on-demand verification as a way to submit high-priority prospects for extra checking before you call.

How Cognism credits work

From Cognism's pricing page and its help centre article on credits:

  • One credit reveals one contact. Emails and phone numbers stay hidden until you click Reveal, which uses one credit and shows the contact's details together.
  • Credits are used when you reveal a contact in the platform, reveal one through the Chrome extension on LinkedIn, Sales Navigator or LinkedIn Recruiter, save an unrevealed contact to a list, export straight from search results, or enrich records by CSV or CRM Enrichment.
  • Each contact is charged once per account. Anyone on your team can view, export or reuse it afterwards for free, and Cognism's "All Contacts" list shows what colleagues have already revealed. A credit is used again only if the contact changes jobs.
  • One pool, three channels. The same credits work in the platform, in Enrich and through the API.
  • Allocation is per seat. Each seat includes an allocation of credits, and you can buy more at any time. The pricing page doesn't state the allocation, which is a number to get in your quote.
  • Admins can cap usage. One per-user credit limit applies to every user, resetting monthly or annually.

The "one contact, one credit" rule matters most if you call. Here's what a contact with an email and a mobile costs in credits at four vendors on 26 October 2026:

VendorCredits for one email plus one mobileSource
Cognism1Pricing page: "1 credit = 1 revealed contact"
UpLead1Pricing page: one credit covers email and mobile direct dial
Lusha6 (1 for the email, 5 for the phone)Pricing page credit breakdown
Apollo9 (1, plus 8 when a mobile is returned)API documentation

Credits aren't dollars: a Cognism credit may cost much more than an Apollo credit. Compare cost per contact once you have the quote.

What drives your quote

Cognism's FAQ says pricing "is tailored based on the product you need, your team setup and how you plan to use the platform". In practice that means:

  • Package. Pro costs more than Standard because it adds intent, the premium mobile filter and on-demand verification. If you won't use intent weekly, price Standard.
  • Seats. Both packages start at five. Ask whether extra seats come in bundles and what each costs.
  • Credits. The per-seat allocation and the price of extra credits set your real cost per contact.
  • Add-ons. CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service are priced separately.
  • Term and billing. The order form sets the subscription term; the standard terms cover what happens at renewal.

What Cognism's standard contract says

Cognism's General Terms and Conditions (version October 2026) govern every order unless the order form changes them. The clauses that cost money:

TopicWhat the terms sayWhat to do
RenewalEach order renews automatically for the length of the initial term or one year, whichever is longer, unless either side gives written notice of non-renewal at least 60 days before the term endsPut the notice date in two calendars the day you sign, with 30 days' warning
Price at renewalCognism may raise fees at each renewal by up to 10%Ask for a lower cap, or a fixed price for a multi-year term
Cancellation and refundsPayment obligations are non-cancellable and fees non-refundable, except when the agreement is terminated for cause (for example, a material breach not fixed within 30 days of notice), when prepaid unused fees are refundedTreat the whole term as committed spend
Late paymentUp to 1.5% interest a month, and access can be suspended after 10 days' notice while fees keep accruingAgree billing dates your finance team can meet
SeatsEach license belongs to one named user; logins can't be shared; reassignment is at Cognism's discretionBuy seats for named people, not a shared inbox
Do-not-callCognism checks a select list of do-not-call registries and flags matching numbers, but you're responsible for how you use flagged numbersKeep the DNC filter on; check your own call rules
Opt-outsCognism honors opt-outs it receives and makes available a list of people who asked to be removed; you must delete their data when toldMake someone responsible for processing that list
After the termYou may keep using contact data already stored in your systems, at your own risk and subject to the law; access to the platform endsExport what you need before the end date
Changes to termsIf you accept the terms without negotiating, the then-current version applies; negotiated terms change only in writing signed by both sidesNegotiate the clauses above into your order form

The renewal cap compounds. At the full 10% each year, a three-year relationship that starts at fee F costs F + 1.1F + 1.21F = 3.31F, not 3F.

Worked example: a two-person consultancy and the five-seat question

Illustrative example. The firm, volumes and test results are invented. The bank count is real, and published prices are annual list prices from each vendor's page on 26 October 2026.

The firm: Ashcombe Advisory (ashcombe.example) is two partners who review vendor and cyber risk programs for US banks with $1 billion to $10 billion in assets. The FDIC's BankFind listed 884 active institutions in that band on 26 October 2026 (balance sheets as of 30 June 2026). The partners want 150 new contacts a month, each with an email and a mobile, because their buyers (chief risk officers, CIOs and COOs) take calls more readily than cold email.

Step 1: count what you need. 150 contacts × 12 = 1,800 contacts a year, on 2 users. At Cognism that's 1,800 credits, since each credit includes the mobile.

Step 2: notice the seat gap. Both Cognism packages include five seats. If a quote covers five seats and two people use them, every used seat costs 5 ÷ 2 = 2.5 times the nominal per-seat price. Ask whether a smaller package exists before you compare.

Step 3: price the same volume at published prices.

  • Apollo Basic, 2 seats: 150 × 9 = 1,350 credits a month, inside 5,000. 2 × $49 × 12 = $1,176 a year.
  • UpLead Essentials, one account per partner: 75 contacts each a month, inside 170. 2 × $74 × 12 = $1,776 a year.
  • Lusha: 150 × 6 = 900 credits a month, or 10,800 a year, more than Pro's 7,200, so Premium (40,800 a year, five seats): $299.95 × 12 = $3,599.40 a year.

So the same data volume lists at about $1,200 to $3,600 a year elsewhere, before any test.

Step 4: value the difference from your own test. Suppose the partners dial 50 mobiles from Cognism's data sample and 50 from Apollo, and find 8% of Cognism's numbers wrong against 20% of Apollo's. At 150 contacts a month, that's 12 points × 150 = 18 fewer wrong numbers a month. If each wrong number wastes three attempts of three minutes, that's 18 × 9 = 162 minutes, or 2.7 hours. At an illustrative $200 an hour of partner time, that's $540 a month, or $6,480 a year.

Step 5: set the walk-away number. Cheapest benchmark that passed the test plus the value of the difference: $1,176 + $6,480 = $7,656 a year. That's $3,828 per partner, or $7,656 ÷ 1,800 = $4.25 per contact. A Cognism quote above $7,656 a year buys something the partners can't use, such as three extra seats. If the test shows no accuracy gap, the walk-away number falls to the benchmark.

Ask for an itemized quote

Send this before the first pricing call so every number arrives in writing:

Cognism quote request
Hi [name],

Before we discuss pricing, please send an itemized quote covering:

1. Package: Standard or Pro, and the price difference between them for our team.
2. Seats: [number] named users. Is a package with fewer than five seats available?
3. Credits: the allocation per seat per year, whether unused credits carry over, and the price of extra credits.
4. Mobiles: confirm that one credit reveals both email and mobile, and what on-demand verification includes on Pro.
5. Add-ons: CRM Enrichment for [CRM name], priced separately.
6. Term and billing: 1-year and multi-year options, and quarterly or annual billing.
7. Renewal: the notice date, and a renewal increase cap below the standard 10%.
8. Data sample: verified mobiles and emails for [number] of our own target accounts before we sign.

Thanks,
[Your name]

Negotiation checklist

  • Match seats to people. Five seats suit a team of five. For fewer users, ask for a smaller package or a lower total, not a per-seat discount on seats you won't use.
  • Size credits from a month of real use. Count the contacts each person revealed last month in your current tool, then add 20%.
  • Price Standard first. Only pay for Pro if someone will act on intent data or verified mobiles every week.
  • Negotiate the renewal clause. The 60-day notice period and the 10% cap are standard terms; both can be changed in the order form.
  • Keep the data question in writing. Confirm what you may keep using after the term ends.

Run a two-week test before you sign or renew

  1. Days 1 and 2: build a truth set. Choose 40 target accounts with 80 buyers whose details you know are right because they replied or answered in the last six months. Set pass marks for buyers found, wrong numbers and bounces.
  2. Days 3 to 5: request the data sample. Cognism offers a free data sample of verified mobiles and emails for accounts you name, which it aims to return within 72 hours. Run the same accounts through one published-price tool.
  3. Days 6 and 7: score every record. +1 for the right person in their current role with working details, 0 for unconfirmed, -1 for wrong, departed, bounced or a wrong number. GTM-Bench, Blackpearl Group's June 2026 benchmark of AI prospecting systems, scores records the same way so volume can't hide weak data.
  4. Days 8 to 12: dial and send. Call 50 mobiles from each source and email 50 contacts. Count right-person connects and hard bounces.
  5. Days 13 and 14: do the arithmetic. Turn the difference into the walk-away number above, then send the quote request.

Is Cognism worth it?

It's likely worth the quote if:

  • Your team phones mobiles, and your test shows Cognism's numbers reach the right person clearly more often than a published-price tool's.
  • You have five or more people who will use it, so the included seats aren't wasted.
  • You sell into Europe as well as the US and want do-not-call flags across several countries' registries.
  • Someone will act on intent data weekly (Pro).

It's likely not if:

  • You're one or two people, mostly sending email.
  • A published-price tool passes the same test at your volume.
  • You can't commit to the term, or nobody will track the 60-day notice date.

Next step: compare Cognism with the other quote-only and published-price databases in B2B contact databases compared.

Questions people ask

How much does Cognism cost?

Cognism doesn't publish prices. On 26 October 2026 its pricing page listed two sales prospecting packages, Standard and Pro, each with five seats included and quote only, plus CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service priced on usage and delivery. Figures quoted elsewhere online come from user reports, not Cognism. Price the same volume on a published-price tool first, then ask Cognism for an itemized written quote.

What is the difference between Cognism Standard and Pro?

Both include emails, mobiles, job titles, company data, technology usage, hiring and funding signals, AI search and research, API access and five seats. Pro adds three things: intent data from Bombora's Company Surge (up to 12 topics), a premium mobile filter, and on-demand mobile verification, which lets you submit priority prospects for extra checking. Cognism also says Pro includes enhanced dashboards. Pay for Pro only if someone will use those weekly.

How do Cognism credits work?

One credit reveals one contact, showing its email and phone numbers together. Credits are used when you reveal, save an unrevealed contact to a list, export from search, or enrich records. Each contact is charged once per account, so colleagues can reuse it free, and it's charged again only if the person changes jobs. The same credits work in the platform, Enrich and the API, and each seat includes an allocation.

Does Cognism have a free trial?

Cognism's pricing page doesn't mention a free trial. It offers a free data sample instead: you describe your business and ideal customer profile, and Cognism says it aims to send verified mobiles and emails for decision-makers at your target accounts within 72 hours. Use it as a test: ask for accounts where you already know the right contacts, and score what comes back.

Can I cancel Cognism?

Not partway through a term. Cognism's standard terms make payment obligations non-cancellable and fees non-refundable unless the agreement is terminated for cause, such as a material breach not fixed within 30 days. Orders renew automatically for the initial term or one year, whichever is longer, unless you give written notice at least 60 days before the term ends, and fees can rise by up to 10% at renewal. Check whether your order form changes any of this.
