RocketReach alternatives and sites like it, priced per usable contact

RocketReach sells lookups, but on annual plans the limit that bites is exports. Before you switch, work out which limit you actually hit, because some alternatives are cheaper per email and dearer per phone.

Comparison10 min readUpdated

Short answer

The best RocketReach alternative depends on what you need most. For data, sequences and a dialer in one tool, Apollo. For cheap verified emails, Hunter, Snov.io or Prospeo, which all have free tiers. For phone-heavy work, UpLead (one credit covers email and mobile), ContactOut or Lusha. For enterprise data and intent, ZoomInfo (quote only). Compare cost per usable contact: RocketReach Pro was $99 a month for 250 email and phone lookups on 26 October 2026.

  • RocketReach Pro costs $99 a month for 250 lookups, or $69 a month billed annually with unlimited lookups but 3,600 exports a year.
  • Essentials ($49, or $27 annually) returns emails only; phone numbers start on Pro.
  • Free alternatives exist for emails: Prospeo gives 100 credits a month, Apollo 75 per seat, Hunter and Snov.io 50.
  • Paying annually for RocketReach Pro only beats monthly billing if you'd keep it at least nine months.
  • Test any replacement on 20 to 50 contacts you know and count wrong records as a cost.
On this page

This page is for founders, SDRs, recruiters and RevOps people who use RocketReach, or are pricing it, and want to know which sites like RocketReach would do the job for less or do it better. It helps to know your monthly volume, your share of contacts that need a phone number, and whether you need to export records to a CRM or just look them up.

How we compared

Blackpearl Group wrote this page, and one of the options is its own product (marked "we make it" below). The rules we followed:

  • Selection. Each option replaces RocketReach's core job, finding a person's email or phone, or a closely related one, and appeared in the RocketReach alternatives lists among the top search results on 26 October 2026. Most of those lists were written by vendors that rank themselves first.
  • Facts. Every price and limit comes from the vendor's own pricing page or help docs, read on 26 October 2026. Where a vendor publishes no prices, we say "quote only". Prices are list prices before tax.
  • No hands-on scores. We haven't tested these databases head to head, so there are no ratings. Accuracy figures quoted are the vendors' own.
  • Fairness. For each option, we say when RocketReach is still the better fit.

Three rules from RocketReach's pricing page shape the bill:

  • A lookup that finds no verified email or phone is refunded. You pay for results, not attempts.
  • Annual plans make lookups unlimited but cap exports. If you only view contacts, annual Pro is effectively unlimited. If you push every contact to a CRM or sequencer, 3,600 exports a year is 300 a month.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the next term. You keep access for the month or year you've paid for.

RocketReach also includes personal emails alongside professional ones. Its FAQ says you can set your preferences to look up only professional or only personal emails; for B2B outreach, most teams should keep to work addresses (see the compliance note below).

Rollover differs too. Lusha's monthly plans roll unused credits over up to twice the monthly limit, and Snov.io's help center says unused credits roll over while you stay subscribed. Apollo, Hunter and Prospeo reset credits each cycle.

Worked example: one founder, 150 contacts a month

Illustrative example. The agency and volumes are invented. Prices are list prices published on 26 October 2026, before tax or discounts.

The team: Copperline Partners (copperline.example) is a founder-led agency that builds outbound campaigns for industrial manufacturers: valve makers, pump assemblers and precision machine shops. The founder prospects for the agency's own pipeline. Each month she needs 150 new contacts with a verified email, and 60 of them (plant managers and maintenance directors) also need a mobile number. She pushes every contact to her CRM.

What each option needs:

  • RocketReach: 150 lookups on a plan with phones, so Pro, not Essentials
  • Apollo: 150 × 1 + 60 × 8 = 150 + 480 = 630 credits
  • Lusha: 150 × 1 + 60 × 5 = 150 + 300 = 450 credits
  • Prospeo: 150 × 1 + 60 × 10 = 150 + 600 = 750 credits
  • UpLead: 150 credits
OptionFits?Billed monthlyBilled annually (per month)Cost per contact (monthly)
RocketReach ProYes: 150 of 250 lookups and exports$99$69$0.66
Apollo Basic, 1 seatYes: 630 of 2,500 credits$65$49$0.43
Lusha ProYes: 450 of 600 credits (Starter's 400 falls short)$69.90$52.45$0.47
Prospeo StarterYes: 750 of 2,000 credits$49$37$0.33
UpLead EssentialsYes: 150 of 170 credits$99$0.66
ContactOut Email + PhoneYes: 150 of 600 exports$99$0.66
Hunter Starter or Snov.io StarterEmails only: 150 of 2,000 or 1,000 credits$49 or $39$34 or $29.25$0.33 or $0.26 per email

Cost per contact is the monthly bill divided by 150: for example, $99 ÷ 150 = $0.66.

Monthly or annual RocketReach? Annual Pro costs $829. Monthly Pro costs $99 × 12 = $1,188 a year, so annual saves $359 if you keep it all year. But eight months of monthly billing cost $792, less than $829, so annual only pays if you'd keep the tool for nine months or more.

What changes the answer:

  • Volume doubles to 300 a month, 120 with phones. RocketReach Pro monthly (250) no longer fits; Ultimate is $209, or annual Pro's 3,600 exports a year just covers 300 a month at $69. Apollo needs 300 + 960 = 1,260 credits, still one seat. Prospeo needs 300 + 1,200 = 1,500, still Starter. Lusha needs 300 + 600 = 900, beyond Pro.
  • Phone mix. Prospeo charges 10 credits per mobile and Apollo 8, so phone-heavy work narrows their price advantage. RocketReach, UpLead and ContactOut charge the same whether or not the contact has a phone.
  • Accuracy. If a tool returns 10 percentage points more wrong records, that's 15 bad records a month here. The cost of a bad record, worked through for a sales team, is in Apollo alternatives; at this scale it can still outweigh a $30 price gap.

Run a two-week test before you switch

  1. Build a truth set. Pick 20 to 50 contacts whose email and phone you know are right because they replied or answered in the last six months. Include your hardest segment.
  2. Set pass marks first. For example: at least 70% found, under 3% hard bounces, and at least half of mobiles reaching the right person.
  3. Run the same lookups in each tool on the same day. Same companies and roles, no names supplied.
  4. Score every record. +1 for the right person in their current role with a working email or number, 0 for a plausible record you can't confirm, -1 for a wrong person, a bounce or a wrong number. GTM-Bench, Blackpearl Group's June 2026 benchmark of AI prospecting systems, scores records the same way so that volume can't hide weak results; several general-purpose AI agents finished with negative net scores.
  5. Count personal versus work emails. Note how many results are personal addresses and whether you can filter them out.
  6. Test exports. Push ten scored contacts to your CRM and note duplicates and fields you fix by hand.
  7. Work out cost per usable contact. Monthly price ÷ (contacts × share scoring +1). If 80% of RocketReach's records score +1 for Copperline: $99 ÷ (150 × 0.80) = $99 ÷ 120 = $0.83.

Decision and why:

Best fit and limitations for each option

Apollo. Best for: teams that want data, unlimited sequences and a US dialer in one subscription. Limitations: a phone costs 8 credits, and annual plans can't be downgraded mid-term. RocketReach is the better fit if: you want phones at no extra cost per lookup.

Lusha. Best for: small teams doing quick reveals from a browser extension, with two seats on Pro and monthly rollover. Limitations: a phone costs 5 credits and allowances are small. RocketReach is the better fit if: most of your contacts need a phone. Our Lusha alternatives page covers it in depth.

UpLead. Best for: one rep who calls as much as they email, since one credit covers email and mobile. Limitations: single-user plans and 170 or 400 credits a month. RocketReach is the better fit if: you need more volume per dollar on an annual plan.

ContactOut. Best for: one user who reveals many emails and phones and exports a few hundred a month. Limitations: prices were marked limited-time, one user per company, and team or API plans are quote only. RocketReach is the better fit if: you need team plans or published annual prices.

Snov.io. Best for: email-first teams that want finding, verification and cold email sequences with unlimited seats. Limitations: phone data sits in a separate enrichment product we haven't priced here. RocketReach is the better fit if: you call prospects.

Prospeo. Best for: low cost per verified email, with a free plan of 100 credits a month. Limitations: a mobile costs 10 credits, and credits don't roll over. RocketReach is the better fit if: most contacts need phones.

Hunter. Best for: finding and verifying emails from a company domain, with unlimited users on every plan. Limitations: no phone numbers. RocketReach is the better fit if: your reps call.

ZoomInfo. Best for: larger teams wanting broad data, intent signals on its Copilot tiers and marketing products under one contract. Limitations: quote only, and each export costs a credit. RocketReach is the better fit if: you want published prices and a monthly option.

Bebop (we make it). Best for: finding the right accounts from a plain-language description and getting a playbook for each: who to talk to, what's happening at the company and the angle to open with. Limitations: it isn't a lookup tool for a name you already have; $149 a month for one user, 5,000 credits. RocketReach is the better fit if: you already know exactly who you want to reach.

Where every option falls short

  • Data decays. People change jobs and every database lags. Re-check records before a large campaign.
  • Accuracy figures are self-reported. RocketReach states 98% accuracy and Lusha 98% for email; neither describes your market. Your truth-set test does.
  • Compliance stays with you. In the US, the FTC's CAN-SPAM guidance says the law makes no exception for business-to-business email: identify yourself, don't mislead, include a postal address and honor opt-outs within 10 business days. In the UK, the ICO says a named business contact's details are personal data, so buying them doesn't move your UK GDPR obligations to the vendor.

Next step: if emails are all you need, compare the specialists side by side in best email finder tools.

Questions people ask

What is the best alternative to RocketReach?

It depends on the job. Apollo suits teams that want data, sequences and a dialer in one tool. Hunter, Snov.io and Prospeo cost less per verified email. UpLead, ContactOut and Lusha suit phone-heavy work at different price points, and ZoomInfo suits enterprise teams buying data and intent under one contract. Run your top two on 20 to 50 contacts you know and compare cost per usable contact.

Is there a free alternative to RocketReach?

Yes, for small volumes. On 26 October 2026, Prospeo's free plan gave 100 credits a month, Apollo's 75 credits per seat, Hunter's and Snov.io's 50 credits, and Lusha's 40. ContactOut's free plan allowed 5 emails, 5 phones and 5 exports a day. RocketReach's own free account includes 5 lookups. Free tiers are best for testing data quality on your market, not for daily prospecting.

How much does RocketReach cost?

On 26 October 2026, RocketReach listed Essentials at $49 a month (email only, 100 lookups) or $27 a month billed annually, Pro at $99 a month (email and phone, 250 lookups) or $69 annually, and Ultimate at $209 a month (1,000 lookups) or $142 annually. Annual plans give unlimited lookups but cap exports at 1,200, 3,600 or 20,000 a year. Team plans start at $6,000 a year.

What are RocketReach lookups and exports?

A lookup reveals a person's contact details. RocketReach refunds a lookup if it finds no verified email or phone. An export moves a contact out of RocketReach, for example to a CSV file or your CRM. On monthly plans, lookups and exports have the same limit; on annual plans, lookups are unlimited and exports are capped, so teams that export everything should plan around the export limit.

Is RocketReach better than Apollo?

For phone numbers, a RocketReach Pro lookup includes the phone at no extra cost, while Apollo charges 8 credits for a phone against 1 for an email. Apollo gives more contacts per dollar for email-led work and includes sequences and a dialer. If most of your contacts need a phone, RocketReach can work out cheaper; if you mostly email, Apollo usually does. Test both on contacts you know.
