Short answer
Comcast had approximately 179,000 full-time and part-time employees, calculated on a full-time equivalent basis, on December 31, 2025, according to its Form 10-K filed February 3, 2026. About 30% work outside the US. That count includes Versant, the cable networks business spun off on January 2, 2026, which reported about 4,400 employees. Comcast's 2026 quarterly reports don't give a newer count.
- Latest figure: about 179,000 full-time equivalent employees on December 31, 2025, from the 2025 10-K, 30% of them outside the US.

- Versant, spun off on January 2, 2026, reported about 4,400 employees of its own at December 31, 2025.
- Comcast plans to spin off NBCUniversal and Sky in mid-2027, which would split the workforce again.
- Revenue per employee was about $691,100 in 2025 (our calculation).

This page is for sellers sizing Comcast as an account, job seekers, analysts and anyone who needs a Comcast headcount they can cite. Every figure comes from Comcast Corporation's annual report on Form 10-K or its quarterly report on Form 10-Q, filed with the SEC, plus Versant Media Group's own 10-K for the spun-off networks. Comcast's fiscal year is the calendar year.

Each 10-K gives the figure as "approximately", rounded to the nearest thousand; the changes are our arithmetic. Comcast reports headcount once a year. Its 10-Q for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, filed October 22, 2026, doesn't give one, so the next figure is due with the 2026 10-K in early 2027.
Comcast employees by business, 2018 to 2022
Until 2022 the 10-K split the workforce among its three main businesses. The 10-Ks from 2023 on give only the total.
| Business | 2018 | 2019 | 2020 | 2021 | 2022 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cable Communications | 88,000 | 88,000 | 82,000 | 79,000 | 73,000 |
| NBCUniversal | 64,000 | 66,000 | 49,000 | 74,000 | 77,000 |
| Sky | 30,000 | 34,000 | 34,000 | 34,000 | 34,000 |
The three lines don't add to the total; corporate staff and other businesses make up the difference. Two patterns stand out. Cable Communications shrank by 15,000 in four years. NBCUniversal fell by 17,000 in 2020 and then recovered past its pre-pandemic level by 2021.
What the number includes
- Full-time equivalents. The 2025 10-K says: "As of December 31, 2025, we had approximately 179,000 full-time and part-time employees calculated on a full-time equivalent basis." Two half-time workers count as one.
- Not freelancers. "We also use freelance and temporary employees in the normal course of our business." The 10-K lists them separately from the 179,000. Many of the writers, directors, actors and production crew on NBCUniversal's productions are freelance or temporary staff covered by industry-wide collective bargaining agreements.
- About 54,000 outside the US (30% of 179,000, our arithmetic), in over 30 countries, with the largest groups in the UK, Western Europe, East Asia and South Asia.
- Versant, at December 31, 2025. The count is two days before the Versant spin-off. Comcast's 10-K says the Versant businesses are included in its results for all periods presented.
What changed and why
- 2018: Sky. Comcast acquired Sky in the fourth quarter of 2018; the 10-K counted about 30,000 Sky employees at year-end.
- 2020: the pandemic. Comcast "implemented temporary workforce reductions, including employee furloughs at our theme parks, and incurred severance at some of our businesses." The workforce fell 22,000, mostly at NBCUniversal.
- 2021: the reopening. Headcount rose 21,000, back to 189,000, as NBCUniversal rehired.
- 2022 to 2025: gradual decline. The count fell 10,000 over four years, while the share outside the US held at about 30%. The 10-K mentions higher severance charges in the Media segment in 2024, without a number of roles.
- January 2, 2026: Versant. Comcast spun off Versant Media Group, which took cable networks including MS NOW (formerly MSNBC), CNBC, USA Network, Golf Channel, E!, Syfy and Oxygen, plus Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow and SportsEngine. Versant's own 10-K reports "approximately 4,400 full-time and part-time employees calculated on a full-time equivalent basis" at December 31, 2025, so Comcast without Versant was roughly 174,600 people at that date (our arithmetic).
- May 31, 2026: Sky Germany sold. The 10-Q records the sale of Sky's operations in Germany. It doesn't give their headcount.
- June 2026: another split announced. Comcast said it intends to spin off NBCUniversal and Sky, "comprised primarily of the Media, Studios and Theme Parks segments and the Sky businesses," with completion expected in mid-2027.
Revenue per employee
Comcast's 2025 revenue was $123,707 million. Divided by the year-end headcount, that's $123,707 million ÷ 179,000 = about $691,100 per employee (our calculation).
| Year | Revenue | Employees (FTE) | Revenue per employee (our calculation) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2025 | $123.7 billion | 179,000 | about $691,100 |
| 2024 | $123.7 billion | 182,000 | about $679,800 |
| 2023 | $121.6 billion | 186,000 | about $653,600 |
| 2022 | $121.4 billion | 186,000 | about $652,800 |
| 2021 | $116.4 billion | 189,000 | about $615,800 |
Revenue grew 2% from 2022 to 2025 while headcount fell 4%. By segment, Residential Connectivity & Platforms brought in $70.7 billion in 2025 and Business Services Connectivity $10.2 billion; within Content & Experiences, Media brought in $27.1 billion, Studios $11.3 billion and Theme Parks $9.8 billion, up 14% with the opening of Epic Universe in Orlando in May 2025. The US accounted for $95.1 billion, or 77% of revenue, against about 70% of employees.
Selling to a company of Comcast's size
General guidance on how a 175,000-person media and connectivity company buys, not a description of Comcast's internal processes.
- Pick the future company. After the planned 2027 spin-off, the broadband, wireless and business services operations stay in one company and NBCUniversal and Sky go to another. A multi-year deal should name which entity signs.
- Separate the businesses. A cable network, a film studio, a theme park and a broadband operation buy different things on different budgets.
- Expect separation work. Two spin-offs in two years mean IT, finance and HR teams are splitting systems and contracts. That creates projects, and also slows decisions on anything that isn't part of the separation.
- Find the regional owner. Connectivity operations and Sky's European businesses run regionally, so the decision maker may sit well below headquarters.
For a routine on an account this size, see enterprise account research. For another media company, compare Disney's headcount; for another US network operator, AT&T's.
Next step: use how to find decision makers to reach the budget owner inside a business this large.

Questions people ask
How many employees does Comcast have in 2026?
The latest company figure is about 179,000 full-time equivalent employees on December 31, 2025, from Comcast's 2025 10-K. That includes Versant, spun off on January 2, 2026, which reported about 4,400 employees, so Comcast's own count after the spin-off was roughly 174,600 (our arithmetic). Comcast's 2026 quarterly reports don't give a headcount.
How many Comcast employees are in the US?
About 125,000 at the end of 2025, by our arithmetic: Comcast's 10-K says approximately 30% of its 179,000 full-time equivalent employees were located in over 30 countries outside the US, which leaves about 70% in the US. Comcast doesn't publish a count by state, and the US figure includes Versant's staff, most of whom are US-based.
How many employees does NBCUniversal have?
Comcast stopped reporting a separate NBCUniversal headcount after 2022, when its 10-K put it at about 77,000. Since 2023 the 10-K gives only a company-wide figure. Comcast plans to spin off NBCUniversal and Sky in mid-2027, and a count for the new company would likely appear in its separation filings.
Did Comcast have layoffs?
Comcast's filings describe temporary workforce reductions in 2020, including furloughs at its theme parks, and severance at some businesses that year, and mention higher severance charges in the Media segment in 2024. They don't give numbers of roles cut. Headcount fell from 189,000 at the end of 2021 to 179,000 at the end of 2025.
What is Comcast's revenue per employee?
About $691,100 in 2025, by our calculation: revenue of $123,707 million divided by about 179,000 full-time equivalent employees at year-end, both from Comcast's 10-K. It has risen from about $615,800 in 2021 because revenue grew slightly while headcount fell. Because the count is in full-time equivalents and excludes freelancers, compare it only with figures built the same way.
