This page is for people looking for companies in Boise: job seekers, contractors and suppliers, companies thinking of moving to Idaho and B2B sellers sizing the Treasure Valley. It covers the public companies headquartered here, the employers the regional economic development group lists as the largest, the Census count of every business by county, size and sector, and the state records for checking a company. The Census figures cover the Boise City metro: Ada, Canyon, Gem, Owyhee and Boise counties.
Two giant headquarters, then a short list
Six SEC-registered companies with meaningful revenue give a principal executive office in the metro on the cover of their latest 10-K:
| Rank | Company | Headquarters | Business | Revenue | Year ended | Employees |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Micron Technology | Boise | Memory and storage chips | $133.19 billion | Sep 2026 | About 61,000 |
| 2 | Albertsons Companies | Boise | Supermarkets (Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco and others) | $83.17 billion | Feb 2026 | About 280,000 |
| 3 | Lamb Weston | Eagle | Frozen potato products | $6.61 billion | May 2026 | About 10,000 |
| 4 | Boise Cascade | Boise | Wood products and building materials distribution | $6.40 billion | Dec 2025 | About 7,660 |
| 5 | IDACORP | Boise | Idaho Power electric utility | $1.81 billion | Dec 2025 | 2,174 full-time |
| 6 | Pennant Group | Eagle | Home health, hospice and senior living | $947.7 million | Dec 2025 | About 9,700 |
Revenue is as reported. Micron's 10-K for the year to 3 September 2026 shows revenue of $133.19 billion, against $37.38 billion the year before, so the order at the top of this table flipped in a single year. Together the six reported $232.1 billion, and Micron 57.4% of it. Headcounts are company-wide; Micron's employees are mainly in Asia, North America and Europe, and Albertsons' about 280,000 associates are 62% part-time.
The next tier is thin. Below Pennant, the SEC-registered companies with Boise-area addresses are small companies or pre-revenue mining companies, and the region's big private names, J.R. Simplot and WinCo Foods among them, don't publish results.
The Treasure Valley's top employers
The Boise Valley Economic Partnership (BVEP), the region's economic development organization, lists its top employers from Lightcast data for 2025 without headcounts or a ranking:
| Type | Employers on BVEP's list |
|---|---|
| Health systems and insurers | St. Luke's Health System, Saint Alphonsus Health System, Blue Cross of Idaho |
| Technology and manufacturing | Micron Technology, HP Inc., Plexus, Lactalis American Group |
| Headquarters and food | Albertsons, J.R. Simplot Company, WinCo, Scentsy, Jacksons Food Stores |
| Finance and utilities | Wells Fargo, Citi, IDACORP (Idaho Power) |
| Other | Amazon, the YMCA |
The Census data shows how few very large workplaces there are: 14 establishments in the metro have 1,000 or more employees and 3 have 5,000 or more, against 81 and 9 in Las Vegas. Eight general hospitals account for four of the 1,000-plus sites; their combined employment is a figure the Census Bureau flags as high-noise, so it isn't reported here.

Canyon County, home to Nampa and Caldwell, has smaller workplaces (12.2 employees on average) and lower pay ($47,072) than Ada ($66,301). County Business Patterns (CBP) counts locations with paid employees, not companies, and leaves out the self-employed.

| Information (51) | 367 | 11,710 | $112,984 |
Average pay is our calculation from CBP payroll; the health care and retail totals carry the Census Bureau's moderate-noise flag. Construction is the most common kind of business in the metro, with 4,134 establishments averaging 7.4 employees, 2,930 of them specialty trade contractors. Wholesale and information jobs pay the most of the larger sectors, and manufacturing sites average 34.9 employees, the most of any big sector. Prospecting Treasure Valley contractors
The metro's buyers split cleanly. Micron, Albertsons and the hospital systems buy through national procurement teams, and a supplier usually needs a reference elsewhere first. Below them sit thousands of owner-run firms, most of them in construction and services, where the owner or an operations manager decides in a single conversation.
Illustrative example. The company, prices and results are fictional; the counts are from the Census data above.
Snake River Dispatch (snakeriverdispatch.example) sells scheduling and dispatch software to HVAC, plumbing and electrical contractors.
- Specialty trade contractor establishments in the metro: 2,930.
- Those with 10 to 99 employees, big enough to run several crews: 258 + 154 + 43 = 455.
- It assumes 40% are service-and-repair trades rather than new-construction subcontractors: about 180 prospects.
- At $4,800 a year per firm, 30 customers in the first year would be $144,000 of annual revenue.
It targets owners and operations managers, and times outreach to late winter, before the spring and summer service season fills the schedule. Sorting 455 contractors by trade and by whether they do service work is the research that takes time; Bebop does it for each firm on the list.
Subject: Dispatching [Company]'s crews this summer Hi [first name], When the first heat wave hits, most contractors your size end up dispatching from a whiteboard and a group text, and the callbacks pile up. We schedule and dispatch service crews from one screen, with automatic arrival texts to customers, and we work with Treasure Valley contractors running 10 to 50 technicians.
