The largest companies in Denver: 25 metro headquarters ranked by revenue from their 10-Ks

Denver's biggest companies aren't the names most people guess. Palantir and the Liberty cable companies are often listed as Denver firms, but their filings say Florida and Bermuda; the real top of the table is an electronics distributor in Centennial and a gold miner on the edge of the Tech Center.

The largest companies headquartered in the Denver metro, by revenue in their latest 10-K filings, are Arrow Electronics (Centennial, $30.85 billion in 2025), Newmont (Denver, $22.67 billion), EchoStar (Englewood, $15.00 billion), DaVita (Denver, $13.64 billion) and Ball Corporation (Westminster, $13.16 billion). • DaVita has the biggest workforce on the list, about 78,000 teammates, 72% of them in the US.
  • Nine of the 25 sit along I-25 south of downtown, from the Tech Center to Centennial and Englewood.
  • Palantir's 10-K gives Aventura, Florida as its headquarters, so it isn't ranked.
  • Six mining and oil and gas companies reported $45.64 billion, a quarter of the total.

The 25 largest companies headquartered in the Denver metro

Revenue and company-wide headcount come from each company's latest 10-K, and the city from the principal executive office on its cover page. The metro is the Census Bureau's Denver-Aurora-Centennial area, from Broomfield and Golden to Douglas County.

n/a: no company-wide total found in the 10-K.

Notes on the figures:

  • Molson Coors reports sales of $13.04 billion before $1.90 billion of excise taxes; the table uses net sales, $11.14 billion.
  • Headcounts follow each filing's wording. Newmont's 17,500 employees work alongside about 26,600 contractors. DaVita calls its staff teammates. Vail employed about 44,400 seasonal workers in fiscal 2026 on top of its year-round staff. SM Energy's 1,241 is as of February 2026, after its merger with Civitas Resources closed on January 30, 2026; its revenue is for 2025, before the merger.
  • Gates moved its legal domicile from England to Bermuda in July 2026 but kept its Denver headquarters and its NYSE listing.
  • Fiscal years differ: VF's ended March 28, 2026, Trimble's January 2, 2026 and Vail's July 31, 2026.

The Simply Good Foods Company of Denver ($1.36 billion, year to August 2026), Natural Grocers of Lakewood ($1.33 billion), Red Robin of Englewood ($1.21 billion), Antero Midstream ($1.19 billion) and Royal Gold ($1.03 billion) would rank 26 to 30.

Who's missing, and why

CompanyWhy it isn't ranked
Palantir TechnologiesIts 2025 10-K gives Aventura, Florida as the principal executive office
Liberty Latin America and Liberty GlobalBoth give Hamilton, Bermuda on their 10-K covers, though EDGAR lists Liberty Latin America's business address in Denver
Pilgrim's PrideHeadquartered in Greeley, in Weld County, outside the Denver metro
WoodwardHeadquartered in Fort Collins, also outside the metro
Civitas ResourcesMerged into SM Energy in January 2026
QVC GroupIts 10-K gives West Chester, Pennsylvania, and its shares were delisted in June 2026

Palantir is the useful lesson. Lists of "Denver companies" ranked by market value often put it first; by the address in its latest 10-K, it isn't a Colorado company. Decide whether you mean filing address, largest office or founding city before you compare lists.

Where the 25 are

  • City of Denver: 13 companies, $84.73 billion. Downtown and LoDo hold VF, Ovintiv, Antero, Liberty Energy, Gates, SM Energy and Advanced Energy, many of them in energy; DaVita is on 16th Street and Frontier at the airport.
  • The I-25 corridor south: nine companies. Newmont, Western Union, Healthpeak and SSR Mining use Denver addresses near the Tech Center; Arrow (Centennial), EchoStar, Liberty Media and Innospec (Englewood) and Century Communities (Greenwood Village) sit just beyond.
  • The US 36 corridor: four. Ball and Trimble in Westminster, Crocs and Vail Resorts in Broomfield.
  • Elsewhere: Molson Coors in Golden, MYR Group in Thornton and UDR in Highlands Ranch.

By industry, six mining and oil and gas companies (Newmont, Ovintiv, Antero, Liberty Energy, SM Energy and SSR Mining) reported $45.64 billion, a quarter of the total. Consumer brands (Molson Coors, VF, Crocs, Vail) are the second cluster, and DaVita is the only health care operator.

Large companies are rare in the metro's business count, too. Of 91,522 establishments the Census Bureau counted in 2023, 84 had 1,000 or more employees and 139 had 500 to 999.

Selling to Denver's largest companies

Companies this size buy through procurement teams, security reviews and supplier onboarding, but the 10-K tells you where the budget and the people are:

  1. Workforce mix. A miner with 26,600 contractors, an airline with 3,700 flight attendants and a ski operator with 44,400 seasonal hires have very different needs from a REIT with 411 staff.
  2. Fiscal year end. Vail plans to July, VF to March; most of the list plans to December.
  3. Where the work happens. Several of these companies report most of their people outside Colorado: Ball employs about 5,000 of its 16,000 in the US.

Illustrative example. The company, rates and results are fictional; the workforce figures are from the 10-Ks.

Summit Screening (summitscreening.example) runs background checks and drug tests for high-volume hiring and wants Denver headquarters that hire in waves.

  • Vail Resorts: about 44,400 seasonal employees in fiscal 2026.
  • Frontier Airlines: about 7,750 employees, including 3,700 flight attendants and 2,300 pilots.
  • MYR Group: about 7,200 craft workers.
  • Liberty Energy: about 5,800 employees.
  • Frontier, MYR and Liberty Energy together: about 20,750 people. At an assumed 25% annual turnover, that's about 5,200 new hires to screen each year, before Vail's seasonal hiring.

It targets heads of talent acquisition and HR operations, offers a pilot on one hiring season or one region, and times outreach to the fall, before ski season and spring construction hiring. Finding the talent leaders at each company and the hiring signals behind the pitch is the research Bebop does for each account.
